Pacman Error Failed To Initialize Alpm Library
Now when i start package-query i have this error : failed to initialize alpm library I have found some libalpm.so in /usr/lib but i still don't get the error. Powered by Blogger. The program pkgfile is what I used. The error you're getting suggests that a pacman executable or library may be corrupt though so just replace the files that the tarball does contain. check over here

Run pacman with the --debug flag and see if there is any clue. That means pacman now tracks nothing on your system... Sorry to anyone encountering this issue; this probably isn't any help to you. Edit: saw you got it figured out!

Reload to refresh your session. So it would be more useful to use pacstrap to use the USB arch's pacman. Appears to me that I'll have to fix it with a live drive, I guess. looking for inter-conflicts...

I had to do this with yaourt. Heads up, that's a known issue and an unfixable error. You can change that behaviour by editing /usr/bin/pacstrap and adding pacman_args+=(--force) right before the "#create obligatory directories" line. I uninstalled yaourt and package-query, did the upgrade, downloaded package-query from the website, compiled it and installed it. Unfortunately it appears to be something to do with the pacman directories for my personal packages.
It's the norm for AUR packages to need a rebuild when their dependencies are upgraded - the developers handle that for you in the official repositories, but you built these yourself. Thanks a lot.
