I clicked on Start Recovery and it recovered the document, sans the last half hour of work. I will try the 4.0.2 installation again. It contains information that I can't afford to lose. I'm getting an error message: Error saving the document Document name: Write Error. have a peek here

xx.odt was successfully save by LO. Writer locked up, and a few moments later Xubuntu popped up a Crash Report Detected message.
