- Since this is a remote subscriber, your snapshot folder needs to be a UNC path/share .
- It just needs to be shared.

Use this account for the Distribution Agent process account. Feel free to contribute! I did try changing to a local account that matches a local account on the publisher with the same password.
So I'm very confused, I don't know how to go on! To alleviate the issue, right-click f:\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\ReplData folder -> Properties -> Sharing -> Advanced Sharing..., and check Share this folder. On the distribution server I created a share to the local replication folder and gave full admin rights to it. This can be done by right-clicking on the snapshot folder -> Properties, and adding the user on the Security tab with Read permissions.
