I did find one suggestion that said go to the admin prompt command and do sfc/scannow. Since IE has always been my default browser...I didn't even consider that as being a problem, so I did not check it at first...but since I had tried everything else, and The mail store for OE is at C:\Documents and settings\your user name\Local settings\Application Data\Identities\Microsft\Outlook Express.Local Settings is a hidden folder so you may have to "show hidden files and folders in Outlook Express doesn't remember your password.
