Selective sync as an option added on top of the Win8.1 solution seems a better way to go. I did that because the Smart Files work so well. I have access to OneDrive on my laptop as long as I'm not trying to get in through the app. I have notes on my phone that don't appear on my PC and vice versa.

- Not only did it immediately resolve the problem, but I now realise ODB had been failing over time and ODB now works as it should.
- Apply changes and it'll completely disable OneDrive functionality in Windows 10.

There are a couple of major examples of this, but what I saw was a red bang on the OneDrive tray icon and the message "Your OneDrive won't fit on this Onedrive Not Working Windows 10 Make sure the OneDrive icon is no longer visible in the taskbar's notification area (bottom right corner) to verify the command worked.
I rarely heard about OneDrive from other people unless they're avid Microsoft products user or somehow use Office 365, not all even use OneDrive, as long as they can use Office. It didn't opens! I get to the folder selection dialog and then get an error message that it can't display my folders when I try and select choose folder to sync. Select either the Sync all files and folders in my OneDrive or select the files and folders you want to sync to your computer. I've never seen this before. Has anyone else seen this?
